This large mug is fit for those with a massive thirst. It is 5 3/4" (14.6 cm) tall and 3" (7.6 cm) wide across the rim and holds about 16oz of the beverage of your choice.
This mug was hand thrown on the potters wheel. After it was thrown and trimmed it the leaf pattern on the bottom of the mug was the next to be finished. Paper leaves were applied, painted over with blue underglaze, then the leaves were peeled back. Spirals and lines were carved through the underglaze to complete the pattern. The top of the mug was hand textured and carved in a zigzag pattern. The handle was pulled by hand and the 2 spiral embellishments were added. The mug is finished in 3 different glazes and was fired to more than 2000 degrees.
This cup is food safe, and while it can go in the dishwasher, it is recommended for hand washing to ensure its longevity. Pottery can last for thousands of years if it is properly cared for. This cup can be an heirloom to pass down and enjoy for generations.
